But What About The Games?

1/8/2013

Well, I'm glad you asked, because I've been screwing around and not getting any updates out there to my dozen or so adoring fans.  First things first though, I want to lay a few ground rules so no one's miffed for no reason.
  •    I am still new to this, so I'm not going to specify dates because I haven't a clue.
  •   I'm just going to throw out some tidbits right now, not the farm.
  •  This all may change tomorrow.
  •   I'm NEW and kind of flying blind here.
  • Oh and I'm new!

Now that all that good stuff is out the way, let's see what we got.
Alright, most of my games border on the Beer & Pretzel RPG concept.  WTF is that!?!?!?!?  Fast, rules light, and make for a quick game with friends when casual is the order of the day.  The books will be somewhere in about the 20 page mark, more or less.  The rules will be fun and play into the genre (because I like that sort of thing), quick character generation, and work well into one shot games.  Can you run a campaign?  Well Hell yeah, but why would you want too?  I'm going to be releasing more games.  Don't get yourself too bogged down.

If you think in terms of John Wick's more recent creations, or many of Jared Sorenson's works you'll have a good idea.  If you don't know who they are don't say anything...I don't want to not like you, just click on the links and order a bunch of their games.

There are three games on the radar that I am hoping to get out here on short order.  The intentions being to use the profits from two of them to pay to complete another project I have started on.  To understand why only the profit from two of them you’ll have to read on.

I don't want to get into too much detail on the games quite yet, it'd take longer to explain then they will probably take to write.  The first is a Supers game, something I was fairly sure I wouldn't do.  But things kind of fell into place and the Supers theme fit better than my original plan.  So it became about Supers.  I don't want to say "Superheroes" because that implies way more than it should considering the game.

Another is a Slasher Horror Movie game.  Yes, I know, there's a bunch of them already (same could be said for Supers too).  The issue is, I have played many of them and read many of them that I haven't played, and I'm still not sold yet.  If I can't feel the genre expressed in the mere playing of the game, it just doesn't work for me.  If it did, I'd just make OGL everything and be happy with that.  The thing is you will play, and mass amounts of characters will die, and you will feel the terror, and you will have fun.  At least that's the intentions.

The final one I'm going to discuss here will have you playing part in a Goblin rebellion, and NO not the Harry Potter stuff.  This one will not be generating any profits for me, it's a game for charity.  Last summer I lost a friend of mine in a car accident.  He was a huge fan of Goblins and Orcs.  This book will be dedicated to him and the profits generated will go to the charity of his family's choosing.  this doesn't mean I will be skimping on it though, and the mechanics for it have been getting some good reviews from the testers.

Well that's as far as I'm going to go for now.  Who knows, maybe there's a Kickstarter in the future too.  I just want to actually generate a few works before I ask people to have trust in me to finish a project.  You can post questions below.  I can't guarantee I'll be able to give much more info at this point, but I'll do my best to answer.  Take care, and I'll let you know more within a week.
